Even if it’s not our thing or we don’t really understand it, I think everyone who has spent any time on the internet realizes there is a strong foot-fetish community out and about (and always ready to check out what you thought were innocent photos that included your bare feet).

Some people make a decent side-hustle selling pictures of their feet, and I mean. No shame in that game. They’re just feet, right?

Kelly Ripa recently posted a family picture in which everyone was standing barefoot and found out firsthand what can happen when you expose your tootsies on the internet…though be prepared, because this time it’s not what you think.

The picture is really lovely, and was taken on a long-awaited trip, according to the caption.

“Last year’s graduation trip for our oldest son and niece was delayed long enough to become a graduation trip for the family newborns as well.”

Most people weren’t focused on the happy smiles or the gorgeous setting, though, but on the way Kelly is standing. The angle and the way she has her feet crossed makes it look like she only has one leg/foot and people can’t seem to let it go.

Other people sort of inadvertently added to the foot drama by calling out the people who were pointing it out for being weirdos. So, yeah.

Kelly addressed the issue on a recent episode of Live! with Kelly and Ryan, taking off her shoes and showing how she was standing and why it looked the way it did.

On Instagram, though, she said she agreed with the people who thought the feet people were taking a nice family photo and making it weird.

“I don’t know, maybe I’m just jet-lagged, but can you explain to me why people are fixated on my feet in a family photo?”

She does have both of her feet, so everyone can chill out.

But I think we know why all of those people were staring at her feet in the first place. You can’t fool us.
