You’ve probably heard the phrase “the kitchen is the heart of the home,” and if you watch any modern design shows at all, you know that’s a premise people have really embraced. The biggest part of every renovation or building budget goes to the kitchen, and the results are both beautiful and functional (ideally).

These 10 people must have had quite the shock when they got their first glimpse of their kitchen – old or new – because it basically seems like little to no thought was put into any part of them at all.

Honestly, just take a scroll. I bet you’ll be as stunned as I was…and not in a good way.

10. Are those…functional?

And if so, how on earth do you get up there?

I was told you guys would like this, A Kitchen with Stairs at eye level over a cooktop.

9. I guess you don’t feel like you have to clean.

Your counters look moldy no matter what you do!

This entire kitchen’s counters and backsplash are covered with this “faux mold” tile.

8. A quick measure could have fixed that right up.

I mean, what a glaring error that thing is, just looking at you with one eye.

7. It would be bad enough if the pillar was just there.

But this is literally right in front of the sink. Just how?

6. This one just made me laugh.

But only because it’s not my kitchen.

5. Sure, that seems safe.

I bet their smoke detectors are working overtime.

4. Those are some tight fits.

Or some not-quite fits in these cases.

3. Did they just not want to shift the plumbing?

Because I honestly have no idea what’s going on here.

Can’t stop thinking about this sink.

2. Why yes, it does have a toilet.

It’s conveniently located right here next to the fridge.

1. That’s luxury in Manhattan.

You have all the essentials actually in your apartment, so.

Y’all. I would ask what these designers were thinking, but clearly they weren’t thinking much at all.

What’s the worst kitchen design idea you’ve seen? If it compares with any of these we want to hear about it in the comments!
