In recent years, the concept of tiny homes and downsizing has really taken off. Then the housing market got super great (for buyers) and many people sort of abandoned the idea – though with the economy the way it is, they might be regretting it now.
If you’re thinking that cheaper might be better given the current state of unrest, there’s good news – tiny houses are definitely still a thing, and you can get these arched versions for just $1K.
They’re from Arched Cabins, which is a company based out of Cyprus, Texas, but they ship their kits nationwide. The delivery time is just about 4 to 6 weeks and the models start at just $1K apiece.
At 64 square feet it might be too small to live in, but it could be the perfect cabin for a camping trip or a she-shed out in your back yard.
From the website:
“Arched Cabins can be used for workshops, offices, animal shelters, vacation homes, RV shelters, retirement homes, hunting lodges, student housing, tiny, houses on wheels, granny pods/man caves/she sheds, and many other things!”

The most expensive model is around 1200 square feet and costs just $22,300, which means it’s still super affordable for a first or downsized home (especially if you live somewhere with a substantial cost of living).
They’re not necessarily rustic, either – in fact, if you head over to their website, you’ll see that the interiors are actually pretty fancy.
If you’re concerned about your carbon footprint and energy efficiency, don’t be – the company uses recycled steel roofing materials and “encourages the use of alternative energy systems and the shape of our cabins lends itself to water collection.”
