Who doesn’t love avocados?!?!

I know they sometimes get made fun of because avocado toast is the hipster food of choice, but the fact remains that they’re delicious AND they’re good for you.

But do you ever run into that problem where you buy some avocados and when you go to slice them open they’re not fresh anymore?

Well, if you’ve been worried about that pressing issue, today is your lucky day because we’re gonna tell you how to make your avocados ripen slower AND ripen faster.

First, to make your avocados ripen slower, a Facebook user offered the following advice:

“Avocados stay good for-freaking-ever if you put them in water in the fridge.

These have been in here for two whole dang weeks while the control group on the countertop rotted.”

I did not know that!

Now, let’s learn about how to make those delicious avocados ripen faster!

According to Eating Well, if you’re impatient and you want those avocados ready sooner than later, you can remove them from the refrigerator and place them in a paper bag with a piece of fruit.

The gas that the fruit produces helps the avocados ripen much faster. And that’s all there is to it!
