A server at an Eat ‘N Park restaurant in the Belle Vernon borough outside Pittsburgh recently did a kind deed, which warmed the hearts of thousands of Facebook users.

Customers at the restaurant know Dylan Tetil as a friendly, caring server. But one Friday night, a particular customer needed his attention.

Tetil told KDKA about the man…

“He was very interesting, very kind, very respectful. Just one of the nicest people I’ve met in here really.”

Another customer caught the image of Tetil kneeling to communicate with the 91-year old because of the man’s hearing loss.

However, the gentleman needed more than to place an order for a meal. Apparently, he was lonely and had few people remaining in his life.

Tetil added,

“He was talking about the war, some of the injuries he had, the places he’s been, his family.

Tears were just running down his face. You can just tell this man hasn’t had a true, caring person to talk to in a long time.”

After the customer posted Tetil’s act of kindness on Facebook, it was liked by nearly 100,000 people and shared thousands of times.

In this case, Tetil’s very act of listening turned out to be a loud voice, and with it he is saying, “Be kind. Always.”
