One of the store’s owners, Ellen Helmke, told Narcity, the kittens, and sometimes a mother cat, come from the South Paw Conservation Nova Scotia rescue group.
She advises people act fast if they see a potential fur baby as they tend to get adopted quickly.

The adoption is handled by the rescue group.
Customers who decide to adopt fill out an application and must provide references. They also pay a fee to cover care and medical costs.
More than 30 cats have been adopted since the program was started in 2019 when Helmke realized she had the perfect space to bring in the kittens to find forever homes.
She has a 100 percent adoption rate and says the program makes her and the community happy.
