Remember The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? Yeah you do!

Launched in September 1990, this legendary sitcom introduced the world to Will Smith’s considerable comedic chops, Alfonso Ribeiro’s signature dance moves and one of the most memorable theme songs ever.

But what if the show wasn’t a comedy at all? What if Will were caught with a gun? And his rich Uncle Phil got the charges dropped – but only if he comes to live in Bel-Air? Basically, what if The Fresh Price of Bel-Air was a gritty AF look at race in America and the struggle between the haves and the have nots?

Kansas City based filmmaker Morgan Cooper has envisioned just that in ‘Bel-Air’, and the results are revelatory.

Bravo Morgan!

UPDATE: Will Smith saw this movie trailer and responded!! He met with the director/creator and talked about his feelings on if there should be a movie:
