If you’re not clear on what “emancipated minor” means, here’s wikipedia to help us out:
“Emancipation of minors is a legal mechanism by which a child before attaining the age of majority (sometimes called a minor) is freed from control by their parents or guardians, and the parents or guardians are freed from any and all responsibility toward the child. Children before that age are normally considered legally incompetent to enter into contracts and to handle their own affairs. Emancipation overrides that presumption and allows emancipated children legally to make certain decisions on their own behalf.”
In other words, it means that you become an adult before you become an adult. And these anonymous folks are here to tell us how that works out.
