I can hardly believe that another year is coming to a close. I swear that when we’ve been in the thick of the past couple of years it has seemed like they’re never going to end, but they have.

The bad part has been that the years coming next haven’t been much better than the ones we’re leaving behind, but you never know…we remain ever hopeful that this coming year will be different.

These people are wading into these murky waters, so let’s hear what they think!

1. The sarcasm is strong.

increased taxes. governments around the world praising themselves and asking citizens to make sacrifices to cover the deficits they made through their decisions. good times ahead.

2. More than we already have?

Coronavirus will still be a thing in 2022 and eventually everyone will just say “F**k it!” and throw away most of the precautions they have been taking.

3. Another stressful year.

Few more covid variants, back and forth restrictions, that make no sense because governments don’t know what they are doing anymore.

Have to get booster shot that might work with new variants but they’re not sure.

Another stressful year.

The Queen might unfortunately get sick and or pass away, also a couple older celebs maybe one young.

Things get more expensive but higher ups still won’t do anything to help.

4. I need to do some research.

The Tsuut’ina Nation, Stoney Nakoda Nation, and Siksika Nation near Calgary bringing up issues about non-reservation related urban development around them if they haven’t already.

5. It might be coming.

One step closer to civil war or totalitarian takeover of the US. It’s too clear.

I think enough people are now realizing that their votes don’t actually do anything or change anything for the better. Complete lack of faith in the institutions we call ‘democratic and free’ will lead to one of two things – fascism, or something better than what we have now.

I’m not optimistic.

6. Does it, though?

The rich get richer, poor stay poor, middle class erodes away, life goes on.

7. The wrong way.

Watching and reading news from America (not Fox or CNN, mainly small-ish channels on YT) makes me worried about the future of the US. It needs change, but it is changing the wrong way (More authoritarian, wealth gap).

If they US collapses or some shit then the worlds is gonna be a s*%tshow.

8. This might be a BIT dramatic.

Nuclear winter, of course.

I’m looking forward to nuclear summer, myself. Gonna be a hot one.

9. A tale as old as time.

Humans upset about things other humans said and/or did.

10. We scared to look…

In 2019, people said there was no way 2020 could be worse.

In 2020, people were POSITIVE 2021 couldn’t be as bad.

Now in 2021.. well.. my hopes for 2022 aren’t very high.

11. Only time will tell.

Vaccine complications that cause an even greater divide between anti- and pro-vaxxers.

Talk of civil war will sprout in the United States.

Covid mutates again into three or four different strands.

12. We might be on the downhill slide.

Honestly my hopes are higher for 2022. By the end of it we will hopefully have some shred of normalcy again.

We’ve had a rough couple years but it was predicted to be over by 2023/24.

13. These feel like safe bets.

Common sense will be less common.

People will keep eating unhealthy.

14. We will deserve it.

Harambe returns to destroy us all with his sidekick Left Shark.

15. More self-centered people.

Unfortunately more suicides. Technology and social media are destroying children’s minds and capability to maintain organic relationships and love is not patient anymore.

People are more self centered than ever before.

And to everyone reading this: You can help stop it. Remember the human and never treat others as disposable. And get off Insta and anywhere else that commoditizes your worth.

16. There’s always a price.

Hyperinflation gets worse and interest rates will rise rapidly.

Then again, maybe we need interest rates to rise. Getting .5% annual for a CD is absurd.

people forget that whatever you’re getting on a CD or savings account, inflation will be higher, and you’re still losing money.

My mom saw this in the ’70s and early ’80s. Sure, she got 11% on her savings account, but her first mortgage was 12.5% in 1978, and inflation was 14% by 1980.

Bottom line, rising interest rates follow rising inflation, and you’ll never get ahead with a savings account or a CD. Best you’ll do is break even.

17. You mean we’re not already?

North American consumers about to get ripped off really badly.

Here comes the inflation demon.

18. The global collapse of our biosphere.

I think it’s unfortunately telling that I haven’t seen anything talk about climate change.

Somehow there are so many terrible things coming that even the global collapse of our biosphere doesn’t even make the list!

19. I see what you did there.

It’ll be just like 2020 because it’s twenty twenty too.

20. Should we root for that?

I’m honestly rooting for a Cold War with China.

We need to focus on trading with other countries more friendly with us, and we need to stop playing games with Russia. China is the most powerful and evil threat on the global stage.

Belt and Road initiative, economic colonization in Asia, invading Hong Kong, threatening Taiwan, GENOCIDE against Uyghurs, covering up genocide in Myanmar, environmental damage, mass surveillance, their suppression of information may be responsible for the COVID outbreak, aggression with India, must I go on?

21. Big signs.

If the pandemic isn’t over by July, then I think people are finally going to have had enough of the status quo.

There’s been signs of it happening this year already.

22. Eat the rich.

Hopefully we’ll unite as people and get our s*%t together. F**k da 1%.

23. He’s trying to speak it into existence.

People will start respecting other people’s different choices and beliefs and start to get along.

No one said it had to be an accurate prediction.

24. President Harris?

By the end of 2022 Biden will step down due to “health issues”

25. What even is normal?

More loathing and self pity on reddit.

Outside, I think life will continue to become more normal. Hopefully covid sensitive markets begin to stabilize.

26. A popular prediction.

Thanksgiving 2022, Joe Biden will announce that he’s retiring from the presidency.

Two sets of reasons I suspect this will happen, these being the personal and the political: [1] Biden doesn’t want a second term and is concerned he may not survive one anyway (mentally or endurance-wise, if not literally); and [2] It will allow Kamla Harris to run for President in 2024 as the sitting President, giving her a stronger platform and giving Trump less of an opportunity to throw shit than he’d have during an open D primary race.

Plus, Biden would add a tiny gold star next to his place in history for his role in putting the first female President in office.

27. The tail end or the beginning?

Super high runaway inflation. We’re already seeing the beginning tail end of it right now.

28. No more TikTok??

Same s*%t, diffrent iPhones, tiktok replaced, an “influencer” will become a billionaire

29. Societal decay.

More inflation, more poverty, more societal decay.

More attempts to erode our rights under the false pretense of safety. Scare tactics, lies, and propaganda.

Perhaps a new crisis, new arbitrary whimsical mandates masquerading as law.

And worst, more aquiescence and acceptance from a populace whose real pandemic is a quickly spreading and dangerous strain of Stockholm Syndrome.

30. There’s always a silver lining.

Hyperinflation. Possible conflict in SE Asia.

Might be getting that promotion at work tho.

31. Time to invest.

Bitcoin hits 100K.

32. A market correction.

To summarize, I think the market will have a correction, not a recession.

When this happens I think we will see bitcoin hit 100k because people will shift their money there during those times.

While this is going on we will feel the Covid inflation costs in all aspects of our life.

33. Nothing new under the sun.

The same bullshit that’s been happening for the past 2 years.

Just a divided country at each others necks over controversial topics that are pointless to argue about because no one wants to change their perspective in fear of being alienated by their peers.

Y’all, I hope some of these people are wrong. I can’t take much more drama.
