You knew this type of kid when you were in school. Always drawing, paying little attention to the teacher or any of their classmates, locked away in their own little world, focused on their doodles.

A 9-year-old boy from Shrewsbury, England, named Joe (aka “The Doodle Boy”) recently received a lot of attention after his artistic journey went viral on Instagram!

Yes, Joe loves to draw and doodle, and his focus on his artwork kept getting him in trouble during classes.

Sound familiar?

Joe’s parents decided to send him to an after-school art class and it became apparent pretty quickly that the young boy has quite a knack for drawing. His teacher shared his drawings on Instagram and people were impressed.

In fact, a local restaurant in Shrewsbury named “Number Four” was so impressed with Joe’s work that they asked him to decorate the dining room of their establishment with his doodles.

Joe’s father Greg said,

“They wanted to get Joe into their restaurant to complete an art piece on their wall, and it was in their main dining area, we were over the moon. I asked Joe and he, of course, leaped at the chance to do it so we have been going there after school where for a couple of hours a night he’ll put his creativity on their wall.”

Joe spent about 12 hours decorating the interior of the restaurant, and it’s pretty amazing to see how much this kid can get done in such a short amount of time!

Pretty damn cool if you ask me! And look at how proud he is!

Artistic endeavors among kids should be fostered in every way possible and not discouraged!

Personally, I love this kid’s work. And I’m definitely going to follow him on Instagram to see where his drawings are headed!
