In an idyllic and romantic setting, Wine Barrels will provide you a unique experience of contact with nature and the monumental reality of the Douro Wine Region.Unique moments of rest await for you in an environment of rurality.
Property owners Paulo Pereira and Maria do Céu Gonçalves designed the replica barrel suites themselves, modeled after the barrels they use on their own 280-year old vineyard. Each room is a little over 300 square-feet and features private bathrooms with walk-in shower, wardrobe, a skylight, and, of course, a comfy, round bed.

Your perfect day starts with breakfast, followed by a stroll around the vineyard. At 140-acres, you’ll have plenty of space to explore and dream. In business now for 119 years, the vineyard offers wonderful wines you’ll enjoy throughout your stay. Find them–reds, whites, roses and ports–at the adjacent 18th century estate. You’ll also get to taste local olive oils and jams.

Dinner is served at the estate and you’ll also get to see the 15 wine-making rooms.
If sleeping in a wine barrel doesn’t thrill you, but you still want to experience the region, regular hotel rooms are available in the main house.
