Ah, Karens! They think they make life better, but for who? In this particular woman’s case, certainly not for the other people who live in her building.
An elevator repairman tells the story of going to a property to repair its lift. He’s confronted by an angry woman who—despite all the signs around her telling her that the elevator is being repaired—demands it be turned on.
Of course, when she asks to speak to the man’s supervisor, trouble ensues, and things don’t turn out the way she expected.
The day starts like any other for the elevator repairman and his supervisor, who are both fixing the problem in the building’s basement.
The “Karen” in this story is also a mom. She can’t, or won’t, read the signs and throws a pretty big fit.
She storms four flights down to the basement just to make herself heard.
In typical Karen fashion, she demands to speak to the supervisor. Little does she know, she already is.
The supervisor plays along and asks his employee to do the same. They pack up, walk out, and drop the bomb.
Some Redditors commended the repairmen on their ruse and admired their ability to keep a straight face.
One guy found their response petty because it affected everyone else in the building.
Another said they could possibly face legal challenges down the road.
Finally, someone questioned her priorities. After all, she did leave her kid alone four floors up to scream at the repairmen.
What do you think the repairmen should have done? Let us know in the comments below!
