Money and conversations about money are never easy.
They’re intimidating for almost everyone, and it can be hard to figure out where to start.
That’s why people really appreciate advice that feels trustworthy and comes from a place of good intention, and that’s why TikTok’r Tori Dunlap went viral for posting about building wealth.
According to her website HerFirst100k.com, Tori saved up her first $100,000, and about a year ago, at the age of 25, she left her marketing career to embark on a new mission:
To fight financial inequality by giving women actionable resources to better their money.
She has been helping women ever since.
CNBC called her “the voice of financial confidence for women.”
For Tori, by becoming financially educated, women are engaging in a form of protest against the patriarchy.
I like her.
On her TikTok account, this millennial is specifically targeting the younger generations, to help them get started with financial literacy.
She shares videos about how to ask you boss for a raise:

As she explained to BuzzFeed:
“When I first started on TikTok, it was tempting for me to think that this young audience wouldn’t be interested in personal finance advice.
But I know now that they are going to be the most financially educated generation we’ve ever had — and I think my success on TikTok proves that they’re looking for financial information from someone relatable and who they can trust.”
So she speaks directly to them.
She tells recent grads not to worry about existential questions like, “What am I going to do with my life?”

She also told BuzzFeed:
“The number one reason women don’t get started is fear, and my account and work is all about giving them actionable advice and guidance so they feel less alone and scared. I joke that investing is no more complicated than climbing stairs — but the first step is five feet high.”
In addition to her TikTok page and website, Tori shares financial tips through Instagram, like this powerful infographic about when to start investing:

There is so much information there, whether you’re a novice or have years of experience investing.
I’ll admit, I got super distracted just reading her site instead of writing this article.
