Depression and other mental illnesses have been getting more and more attention lately, and it’s a good thing – the more able we are as a society to talk about the challenges we face mentally as well as physically, the better we can tackle those things together.

Indian artist Yash Pandit is adding to the conversation. He’s battled mental health issues, including depression, for quite some time but has really felt differently since adopting Bagheera – his shelter cat.

The one he chose is black but not at all bad luck, and has been calm and loving and just what Pandit needed.

After seeing all of the positive impacts having a cat has had on his life, Yash decided illustrations were in order – so please enjoy.
