Ryan laid down with what looked like his personal belongings, but people were generous once they saw him, according to Banksy’s post.

“God bless Birmingham.

In the 20 minutes we filmed Ryan on this bench passers-by gave him a hot drink, two chocolate bars and a lighter — without him ever asking for anything.”

Sources aren’t sure how Ryan and Banksy met, but the artist crafted a message that really makes you stop and think.

Crisis, a UK charity that focuses on homelessness says there are no accurate figures for the number of homeless people across the country. Approximately 4,751 slept in the streets in England in the year 2017.

Different data collection processes make it difficult to have an exact figure, per the UK Office for National Statistics.
