Moms have to put up with a lot (dads, too). So it’s understandable when they get super creative and start thinking outside the box to keep their kids happy and entertained.

Take, for instance, the genius parents who are dumping Cheerios cereal into the blender and calling it “sand” that their kids can eat.

After all, until they reach a certain age, kids just don’t understand that regular sand isn’t something they should put into their mouths and swallow. This Cheerios sand hack solves that problem and removes the need for Mom or Dad to watch baby like a hawk during playtime.

The idea started gaining traction on TikTok, when user @elleannachristine demonstrated this idea with her Nutribullet.

It’s just too perfect for words!

Her baby clearly loved the idea, too. And she can be seen putting her “sandbox” toys in her mouth, so it was all worth it in the end.

Other parents took note and started following suit, making their own miniature sandboxes out of plastic storage containers and other kitchen items:

But, as one mom noted, this is definitely more of an outside activity. Imagine getting all the “sand” on your carpet or all over your couch! Yikes. Here come the ants!

Another fun parenting hack? Freezing plain ice water in popsicle molds and giving them to your kids. No mess here! Water popsicles are still cool and refreshing, without the sticky residue.
