Jamario Howard went out to eat with his friends in Oxford, Alabama. He noticed an elderly woman dining by herself, and thinking that she might be lonely, decided to go talk to her.

He soon found out that the woman was a widow. Her husband had passed away, and the next day would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.

Jamario wrote…

“I instantly gave my condolences and asked her to come eat with us, which she was excited to do.”

He shared the entire story on Facebook. It has resonated with thousands.

“This woman changed my outlook on life and how i look at other people,” he wrote. “Everyone has a story so do not judge!”

Jamario ended his post by encouraging people to call their mothers and grandparents. Life can get incredibly lonely for many elderly people, and small gestures like this make a real difference!
