If you haven’t watched some version of the “Blinding Lights” TikTok challenge (or, you’ve just been living under a rock completely and haven’t downloaded TikTok yet), prepare to be amazed. And to have this catchy song stuck in your head for the rest of the day (sorry not sorry).
What is it? The “Blinding Lights” challenge involves mastering specific choreography to the hit song by The Weeknd. The dance moves are set to the song’s intro, which has a very retro-pop vibe.
Here’s a good example of what it looks like from professional dancer Allison Holker Boss and her husband Stephen Boss, also a dancer:

Most of the time, you’ll find Gen Zers on TikTok (doing dance challenges and otherwise). But recently, there’s been an uptick in the number of well, older people, using the app.
Kids are apparently so bored with all the free time at home on their hands that they’re teaching their parents how to do the “Blinding Lights” dance and uploading the results for all the world to see. And they’re actually pretty awesome.
Some are even creating elaborate skits to set the scene before breaking into the dance moves:
