I kind of feel like colleges IN GENERAL don’t have the greatest reputations right now…and here’s another story that doesn’t make them look all that great.

Yes, of course any organization or institution has a right and an obligation to get all the money they’re owed, but this seems a little bit ridiculous to me…

A TikTokker named Joseph who attends The College of William and Mary in Virginia shared a video on the social media platform where he slammed the school for trying to get some money out of him for the past eight months.

Now, keep in mind that this particular college has an endowment of $1.3 BILLION.

And the sum that the college is looking for?

Well, let’s just say it’s less than two dollars.

Take a look at Joseph’s video…

And Joseph followed up his initial video with two more TikToks where he explained the situation more in-depth and shared some of the responses from the school.

Here’s what folks had to say in response to the videos.

One said,

“Tell them the only way you’ll send it is if they say in writing ‘we’re hurtin’ for it.”

Another viewer added,

“W&M definitely don’t need the 1 dollar. They cannot be serious”

One TikTokker commented:

“Valid, this is me with my $40 hospital bill, to be honest.”

And one person said,

“It’s all accounting. Outstanding invoices are a nightmare regardless of the amount and they’re probably just trying to close out their books.”

Another viewer offered a warning:

“My brother refused to pay a $30 Sprint bill to the point it went to collections and destroyed his credit. The interest rate on a car for him…”
