Halloween is my favorite holiday.
You can keep your Thanksgiving and your Easter and your Christmas.
I like it to be spooky, fun, and a little bit unpredictable.
And I think a lot of my fellow Americans are in my corner!
But the reality is that a lot of people who don’t live in the U.S. think that our Halloween traditions are a little bit over the top. And crazy. And they have some questions.
Take a look…
Now that is a great idea!
Not yet, unfortunately…
Do Americans get Halloween off like a public holiday or something ?

Really, really trusting people do this.
Bless their hearts…
Do Americans on #Halloween really just leave a bowl of sweets on their doorstep and hope for the best?

It’s a very special place…
Where your dreams will come true!

You better believe it!
What…you don’t where you live?

You can NEVER take it too seriously.
Just trust me on this one…
Is it just me or do Americans take Halloween way too seriously? Like this is over-the-top levels of engagement.

I wish it went on longer.
That’s some real talk!
why do americans seem to celebrate halloween for the whole of October ??
— Jessica (@lordjessus) October 20, 2020
Well, it depends on who you talk to…
Those seeds, though…
out of curiosity, do Americans actually eat pumpkins or they just grow them for halloween? ?
— Gt (@thelma_chitura) November 1, 2018
It’s just the way it goes.
Ain’t no shame in our game!
Why do Americans get photoshoots of themselves hugging pumpkins every autumn y'all are a strange group
— b ?? (@cardiganarcher) November 17, 2019
It’s much more intense than the movies.
You better believe it!
Do Americans celebrate Halloween the way they do in the movies or is that just a stereotype ??
