It took her a month, but a girl in the Philippines made her own graduation gown complete with huge, glorious flowers and pleats.

It is absolutely stunning!

Ciara Gan, 17-years old, recently graduated from high school. Since it was such a big milestone, she wanted to wear something all her own creation.

She told Buzzfeed News,

“Because I love to try new things, I thought why not? It was my last big event for school and I had about a month of graduation practices, so I’d be able to focus more on making my gown without worrying about schoolwork.”

After she designed the gown, she found someone to make it for her.

Unfortunately, she didn’t like how it turned out.

So, with the help of her mom, she bought yards and yards of fabric, crystals and other materials, and set to work.

The full-length ball gown has a voluminous skirt, and is strapless with a deep V neckline.

They even sewed each panel and then hand-painted the bold, beautiful flowers!

Ciara shared more about the painting process:

“I strayed away from basic roses and dainty florals because although they’re pretty, they don’t reflect my personality. I love the vibrancy of loud colors like orange and green — they speak more about who I am.”

And yes, there’s proof…

Somehow, she kept her project a secret from her friends and school.

And when she showed up for her graduation ball, her dress was obviously an instant hit. But not just at the school. Across the world!

She tweeted pics of it… and it was liked almost 400,000 times!

Now that her gown received international attention, her fledgling design and art business has taken off. Check out her Instagram to see more of this talented young woman’s productions.
