Gary Sinise is many things: Hollywood movie star and musician are the two most noticeable ones.
But perhaps his best work comes from the Gary Sinise Foundation, his organization that helps military veterans, defenders, and first responders. The foundation also helps out the families of these heroes, as well.
Part of his organization also consists of The Snowball Express, which takes the children of fallen soldiers to Disney World in Florida for a five-night trip. This program began in 2017 and in December of last year, Sinise took an incredible 1,722 kids to Disney World.

Sinise said about the program,
“The most important thing about [Snowball Express] is that these children don’t feel alone. There’s a lot of healing and a lot of bonding and a lot of friendship that goes on that helps them through the rest of the year.”

The program is held around the holidays because, according to the foundation’s website,
“The holidays can be especially challenging for grieving families. Each December, we host a five-day experience for 1,750+ children of the fallen and their surviving parent or guardian.
As a therapeutic retreat with a blend of fun and inspiring programs, these families can lean on their peers for support.”
