Talk about a one in a million chance, huh?
Actually, make that a one in TWO MILLION chance.
I’m talking about the birth of twins that were born 15 minutes apart…but in different years.
A woman in Salinas, California named Fatima Madrigal gave birth to her son Alfredo Antonio at 11:45 p.m. on December 31, 2021, and fifteen minutes later, at the stroke of midnight, her baby daughter Aylin Yolanda was born, making her official birthdate January 1, 2022.
At midnight, Natividad welcomed Aylin Yolanda Trujillo as the area’s first baby of 2022! Her twin, Alfredo Antonio Trujillo, was born 15 minutes earlier at 11:45 pm Friday, Dec. 31, meaning their birthday falls on a different day, month and year— a 1 in 2 million chance! pic.twitter.com/Lm5hkOpNBo

Dr. Ana Abril Arias, who delivered the twins, said “This was definitely one of the most memorable deliveries of my career.” She went on to say, “It was an absolute pleasure to help these little ones arrive here safely in 2021 and 2022. What an amazing way to start the New Year!”
The happy mother said “It’s crazy to me that they are twins and have different birthdays. I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight.”
FYI, twins make up only about 3% of all births in the United States every year.
Here’s a news segment about the happy family.
Well, one thing is for sure, these two are going to have a lot of explaining to do over the years about their birthdays!
