Finland has an interesting and forward-thinking concept called Everyman’s rights.

‘This gives you the right to roam freely in natural areas like forests, fells, lakes and rivers, without permission from landowners.”

This “unwritten code” is due to the vast forest covering a majority of the country. About three-quarters of Finland is covered by forest so it would make sense this creed exists today.

Ossi Saarinen, a wildlife photographer, lives by this code and captures his amazing countryside showing just how enchanting his home country is. Through his photography, he captures the peaceful forests and beautiful animals, making you feel as though you stepped into Narnia!

When I woke up this morning I had a thought that it would be cool to finally see and photograph a weasel. A few hours later I saw something moving in the bushes next to me. I turned and saw this short-tailed weasel (stoat) staring at me. I didn't have time to change better settings to my camera so I just aimed to the animal and hoped for the best. One second later the weasel was already running away with a mouse in its mouth. I carefully followed it for a while but didn't have a chance to take another photo. Our encounter was unfortunately very short but I will remember it forever. I'll go back to the same spot someday soon to see if I'm lucky again 🤞

New YouTube video is up! Link in my bio 🎥 Short peek to my moose/deer photographing day. More "how-to" styled videos will come later but meanwhile if you enjoyed what you saw (and even if you didn't) I would greatly appreciate if you subscribed to my channel. Day by day I'm starting to understand more about making videos. Next one will come hopefully very soon!

The true king of the forest 👑 One of my first and so far my favorite moose shot from last summer. The season is about to start again and the best photos are still there waiting for me. . . I had amazing ten days in Vietnam diving deep into the local culture (and food especially 😋). Tomorrow heading back to Finland to my furry buddies 🦊 🇫🇮 . . #moose #hirvi #wildlife #animals #yleluonto #forest #finland #natgeo #natgeoyourshot #ourplanetdaily #earthfocus #earthpix #wildlifeplanet #nature #beautifuldestinations #helsinki #moodygrams

King of the sky 🦅 The golden eagle has always been one of my favourite birds. When I was a kid and I was browsing through my bird books, I always stopped on the page of this huge eagle. I remember looking at its photos and dreaming of seeing one someday. Last year the dream came true when I got to photograph them in the Eastern Finland, staying inside a small photographing hide for three days. I will definitely try it again this winter. You can see some of my other golden eagle photos by scrolling down my feed 👇
