Most kids in the foster care system have been through a lot—the idea should be to make their lives happier if you do end up fostering.

One woman’s sister had the wrong idea about what it meant to be a foster parent, and when she threatened to become one, her sensible sibling prevented imminent disaster. There’s no question that the sister who took steps to prevent this from happening was in the right, but she’s getting flack from a few family members, so she took to Reddit to ask if she did the right thing.

Amazingly, her sister’s biological kids turned out as well as they did. The sensible sibling has experience when it comes to watching the kids and is well aware of her sister’s attitude.

Check out her story and the responses below.
