A woman who gave up her baby for adoption 18 years ago excitedly shared text messages from her daughter inviting her to meet her for the first time.
The woman took to Imgur to share the text exchange between her and the daughter she hadn’t met since she was a baby.

The woman said:
“The wait is finally over. In just a little over a week I will hold my daughter in my arms for the first time in 18 years and my little family will finally be complete.
Having an open adoption was the hardest decision I’ve ever made. However, at the same time it was also one of the best and the most selfless decision I’ve ever made. At that point in my life it was the right thing to do. Just because I could have given her all the love in the world doesn’t mean I could have given her the life she deserved and the life I wanted her to have. So instead, I chose two trustworthy people that could and would give her an amazing life. In return they made sure I was still able to watch her grow up and she would know who I am.
I wish every soul on this planet could experience this kind of high. It’s beautiful. This is worth every single tear I’ve cried and the pain that caused those tears to fall.”
