I had no idea that people shave their cats in the summer.

It just doesn’t seem natural.

And according to Pet Helpful it’s not necessary, because their fur actually helps regulate their body temperature and keep them cool.

But people do it, whether the hair gets matted up or not.

And now, apparently, it’s a trend to leave a little bit behind, cutting it into a classic mohawk, or getting fancy to make your cat look like a dinosaur or dragon.

There’s even a hashtag on Instagram, and boy do some of these kitties not look amused.

I’m just going to say it, I’m mostly not a fan.

If cats were meant to not have hair in the summer, they would shed their entire coats off.

I wonder if they get cold in the A/C.
